Jeremy Shane’s Z Story:

Day 1 versus 8 years later.

I found my Datsun right after selling my Motorcycle, ending one passion after 23 years and over 150k miles of daily riding in Ohio.

When I first emailed about it, the gentleman, named Marty, replied that he wanted to ask questions about my purpose and plan. We emailed back and forth for about a week. Then when he shuffled through the potential owners, he offered a phone call. During our 3 hour phone call, we laugh, we talked about future plans, we shared history and finally, said I think I was one of his top candidates. I didn’t realize it but I was being interviewed!

We finally scheduled an in person viewing of the car, which was 2.5 hours away from me in Cleveland.

In person, he was as genuine as they come. A retired NASA engineer who bought the car brand new. Over the next 3 hours, Marty talked and showed off the car, all the original parts, documentation of its low mileage, vintage magazines and various Datsun relation items. With enthusiasm, Marty offered to sell me the car. Which created a lasting friendship which even included me driving the car back to him to drive it for the first time in 32 years on the road. The car even has its own Facebook page: The Flying Nimbus
